Reason line = Monitor model, short issue description It's very frustrating currently running at a lower resolution after waking from sleep and getting the error message 'The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution.'. There doesn't appear to be a resolution posted for this issue and guess what, I've just bought a P2715Q and I'm getting the same problems. **just a thought.do you have any device plugged into any of the monitor's USB ports? I do not. I know it must be frustrating for you, as this is a great monitor. Could it maybe be AMD graphics cards only? Has anyone with an Nvidia card had this issue? If you do have the new revision A01, then something else is going on here. My MST is set to off, and I can wake the monitor immediately after it goes to sleep, or wait and hour. No problems when walking from sleep, or turning off monitor. In fact I have purposely tried to recreate this issue you mention and it doesn't happen. I decided to use a regular Display Port to Display Port cable since I already had one rather than the included mini DP to DP. I have a MSI Gaming GTX 980 4GB graphics card and a i7 4790k proc. I took the chance and bought this monitor because it's a great price and had all the features I was looking for. However, the newer version which I (luckily) got (revision A01 - Mar 2015) supposedly was better or fixed with an firmware update. What revision is your monitor? I just got this same monitor a month ago, and was leery about this sleep/wake issue because it is pretty widely reported. Apart from this, the P2715Q is the best monitor I've ever seen. Could you please provide us with some solution to this issue? I really hope you can help me because I just can't do my work until I solve this. The problem also appears when I power off the monitor from its switch and leave the computer ON - when I turn the monitor on after about an hour - the icons and apps windows are resetted as like the monitor was at 640x480 at some point.
The system has detected a link failure amd driver#
Different video driver (Catalyst Omega 14.12). The display is not connected to a USB port.Ĭonnection: DP 1.2 output to the Mini-DP on the monitor. "The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort display." - the resolution is fine (4K), but all my icons and Windows position & sizes are resetted like the display was powered off at some point during the sleep mode and Windows OS switched to 640x480. When I "wake" the monitor from Sleep mode, I get the same error: The monitor is connected to a TriX R9 290 (Non X) via the DP-MiniDP cable provided with the display. Just got my brand new monitor DELL P2715Q and I have the same problem.
